Welcome Back! This week has been packed. I talked with probably the coolest studio at Ologie, Film and Production. I also attended my first event with the Columbus Radio Group. The event is called Mix 107.9 Goes Pink. The event benefited breast cancer warriors and survivors.

On Tuesday I drove out to this cool place in Plain City called Leon’s Garage. I went to the CRG event Mix Goes Pink. I learned that the CRG is only allowed to make donations to places in need locally. Many similar stations donate to places like St. Jude which is a beautiful program but it is located in Tennessee. The event benefited Pink Ribbon Good. PRG helps women battling breast cancer. They provide Food delivery, Rides to and from treatment, cleaning essentials, and peer support. The event was headlined by Philip Philips who won season 11 of American Idol. He was accompanied by Sarah Reeves who is an upcoming artist. The event was sponsored by Revision Renewal, Woodford Reserve, Tequila Herradura, and Pink Ribbon Good. This is the Marketing aspect. These businesses pay to be featured at the event. Renewal Revision is one of the CRG's biggest clients and they were able to go on stage to talk about their business. The alcohol brands were featured in the special pink cocktails. I really thought the specialty drink idea was really cool. On the radio, I heard them talk a lot about it. It seemed like the promotion was paying off because quite a few people were trying the cocktail. While I was at the event I met a lot of the company's Account Executives. I met with about 6 of them and a few other people. I also was able to help with the raffle tickets. There were a couple of moments I was unsure of what I should be doing because my mentor would go and talk to some people that she knew and I did not know if I should follow her or not. When I was with people though I talked to them about their jobs and many of the things that go into them. Overall it was a really cool event at a cool location.

This week at Ologie I met with their Executive Producer to talk about their Film and Production studio. They create Long-form videos, Broadcast/ PSAs, Social Videos/ADs, and do some photography. This studio is different from most of the others. They do a lot of their work in-house. With the help of writers and designers, they come up with a couple of concepts to present to the clients to pick from. Once the client chooses their favorite concept they create a presentation that has an overview, evaluation questions, and the concept in a little more detail. With the go-ahead, they make another presentation with a full script, things to buy, cast, and location. Then it is time to shoot. The first round of editing is the full video. This video is quite long but the client finds what they like and the rest is trimmed out for the final video. I think that this is probably the coolest studio I have learned about so far. I mean the videos are very well put together and just very cool. Take a look at this link to check out one of their awesome videos.
