Hilliard Bradley Leadership Retreat

Hilliard Bradley High School holds an annual Leadership Retreat. It is a one night and two day camp where HBHS students come together to learn.
The event helps students grow their leadership skills at school, at home, and in the communities we live in. During the retreat you explore different styles and ways to be a leader. The discovery is lead by teachers from the building in a lab style.
The retreat also has a big emphasis on collaboration and community building. Every student is sorted into student lead groups to discuss their thoughts on what they are learning. These groups along with large team activities help to build an environment where learning together is encouraged
The year prior to the event high school Juniors are eligible apply to be apart of the Planning Committee for the following year. Once selected you are put into the leadership development class where you learn valuable leadership skills like teambuilding, problem solving, and communication. You learn how to better interact with peers and get them excited for upcoming events.
The class teaches all the steps that go into planning a successful large scale retreat. You are sorted off into committees that specialize in specific areas in order to produce a well organized event.
