Hey, welcome back! This week has been slow. My mentor at the Columbus Radio Group was unable to meet this week because nothing was really happening. This is ok though because college applications are due by Sunday night and I have been in need of time to get it all done. At Ologie I met with their Digital and Media studio.

The Digital and Media studio is very fast paced and ever changing. The studio produces a web experience (Website, App, Streaming), Media Strategy (how they plan to market to potential students), and Data & MarTech (Every business collects data but they look at how it can be used). I met with a Digital strategist who explained that the job is very technical. She conducts and collects research and then must interpret that data. The research can be conducted either by the main strategy team or by the digital team. Digital media is alway changing and so when they gather data they only want to use information that is two or less years old. The Associate Media Director talked about the collaborative aspect of her job. She works with partners to ensure the client is getting what they want from Ologie. This can include freelancers who help work get done in a timely manner for the client. She also talks with billboard owners, train stations, and other physical locations to spread the word. I really liked how this specific studio is present throughout the entirety from start to finish. I like to see the work I have done and to be able to say that it was me who helped make it what it is. I could see myself working in this studio one day.

One thing that stood out to me about our call this week was how they stressed how powerful digital and media are. Their work will be seen by thousands of people and help influence people. In their case 17 and 18 year olds and their decision on which colleges they would like to apply to. It has really taught me that my future job will have an impact on people and it is my job to do it responsibly.
