In this early-stage group project, we explored common challenges faced by college students, ranging from academic life to social experiences. Our task was to identify a real, relatable problem and develop a potential solution. Through group discussion and guidance from our advisor, we learned how to distinguish between profitable and non-profitable ideas and how to refine our thinking to focus on viable entrepreneurial opportunities.

Weekly Content

For this project, our class was split into teams to take a previously discussed problem and investigate it more deeply through questioning. My group chose to explore the challenge professors face when selecting teaching assistants. The focus of the project was learning how to craft effective, unbiased questions that drive insight and innovation. This experience sharpened my critical thinking and helped me understand the impact of good questioning in the entrepreneurial process.

In this team-based capstone project, we conducted a deep dive into the beer industry. We researched key success factors, evaluated top companies in the market, and selected the one we believed was best positioned for long-term success. The final part of the project was to develop a strategic innovation that could better that company’s competitive edge. This project strengthened my skills in market research, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving.
